The mission of Access Ministry, the disability ministry of Crossroads, is to grant all people access to the opportunity to Love, Connect, and Serve on the Journey with Christ. We accomplish that mission in the following ways:

Special buddies

Special Buddies provides one on one or small group assistance to children with disabilities which allows them to participate in Children's Ministry programs with their same age peers. This opportunity is available during our second service, which starts at 9:45 A.M. on Sunday mornings.

friends of jesus

Friends of Jesus is a class designed to meet the spiritual needs of people with developmental disabilities who thrive in a self contained environment. Participants are invited, by loving teachers, to meet Jesus in a personal way each week. Individual families and group homes are welcome to join us.

The Access Coffee Shop

The Access is a coffee shop run in our Connection Area on Sunday mornings. It’s staffed by those with and without disabilities and is meant to help those with disabilities engage with our church family. It’s a great way for them to embrace what it means to Love, Connect, and Serve on their Journey with Jesus at Crossroads!

BHC outreach

Each week a team of people share the love of Jesus to children and teens receiving short and long term inpatient treatment for behavioral health needs. The Gospel is presented through song and games, giving kids light during a season of darkness.

how to get involved

In order for your child(ren) to be part of Access programming, a profile of your child(ren) will need to be completed as well as an intake meeting with Misty Werley, the Director of Access Ministry. Misty can be contacted at mwerley@crossroads-efc.org or 574-935-3833.

looking for ways to serve?

We are always praying and seeking volunteers to serve in Access Ministry. If you feel called to serve our friends with disabilities, please contact Misty to chat about how to get involved. No previous experience is required.
